I dont want users to be able to fiind any of the udc files, nor do I want them to be able to read them. I have created a project I have attached to IP where I have temporarily elevated user prevledges to read a SP list, grab the connection string and use that in the form. After a day of hammering this thing into submission, I had to hard code the IP URL and Path. Doing it this way I ran into a small issue. When testing the client on my desktop I have to use the direct connection string. After publish I can refer to the attached dll to do the work for connection.

1. does IP know it's location, or what site it is in? how can I grab this value?

2.is there a why for IP to know whether it is running off the desktop (test) as opposed to a published browser form? How can this value be grabbed or determined?
