Now I have some new rules within my form.

In my dropdown list I get items from a Sharepoint list. And when they will be loaded at the beginning, I would like to add an additional Item "Others". Can I do it with Visual Basic?

Re: Add item to dropdown list and reset the list

Hi - you can use rules to clear the value from the field bound to the drop down. So, add a rule to your field bound to the text box - and have it set the field bound to the drop down to blank.

As to your first question - what is the data connection to? Is it a database table? If so, I'd create a view and use Union to add "Other" to the data at the DB level, then modify the connection to use the view.

Add item to dropdown list and reset the list

Hello everybody,

I have a Infopath 2003 form. On this form, I have a drop down list which will be filled with a data connection. Is it possible that I can add manually an additional item when I start the form? The reason is, that I get application names from the data connection, but I want to add an additional item called "Others".

And another question. Is it possible to reset the drop down list? I mean, if I change the text from a text field, the value of the dropdown list should be empty – like at the beginning.

I hope you can understand my questions. I would be very appreciate, if you could help me.

Best regards,
