You will need to convert to use the InfoPath 2003 Object Model. I'm not sure if that has DrectoryServices or not. If you have <1000 lines of code it's not too hard to do the conversion, but you may spend less money by just purchasing Qdabra's Active Directory Web Service and removing all of the code from your form. This has the added benefit of reuse for other forms (no code to maintain anywhere).

We have lots of customers who have used this solution and selling "accelerators" to you is our way of helping to defray the cost of this free forum, but bottom line: it's a net savings for your team since you can use it in all of yoru forms and it reduces form template maintenance and time to develop.

Best regards,

Infopath 2007 code but 2003 client software?!

Hi all,

We have a slight issue that we need to solve, ASAP if possible! Hopefully you clever ladies and gents can help us!

We have written a couple of pages of VB.Net code in InfoPath 2007 that is using the System.DirectoryServices in order to pull Active Directory information from our AD and onto a form. It works well and we can see all the information we need to see when the form loads, or from a button click. No problems there........

However, all of our PC's have InfoPath 2003 installed, not 2007. We do have a plan to upgrade to Office 2010 but this will not be until around March/April 2011 and we really want to get our electronic forms into use before then.

What I need to know is, is there a method of using the same code, but using it in InfoPath 2003 ??

I have noticed that you can choose the programming language in InfoPath 2007 to be "VBNet Office 2003 compatible" but this doesn't seem to work and throws up a few errors!

Any help or advice you can give you be very much appreciated!

Thanks all

James
