as far as i know there i no way you can create views dynamically, or use conditional formatting directly through code. albeit there is a work arouund for using conditional formatting via code, but that is not purely code based.

create a textbox on your form (say textbox_conditional_section_1 and set its initial value to "hide") and put conditional formatting on your form (if textbox_conditional_section_1 = "hide") hide the section. similar with all the sections you are going to use.

in code determine what sections the user should be able to view and for those sections set the associated textboxes(textbox_conditional_section_1) to something other than hide. that should hide other sections and project only the required sections.

Re: Creation of views programatically

I really need to do this programatically as I am looking at doing this on sections and doing it over several 1000 sections in one form do you know if this is possible?

you can always use conditional formatting to decide which parts to show and which parts to hide, that would be the easiest way out for you

Re: Creation of views programatically

I think you could be right but anyone who would like to disagree please do :) do you know if there is anyway to programmatically modify the content of views?
If not then I may just have to come up with a new plan :P

Re: Creation of views programatically

Hi nebuk,

I dont think views can be created programatically, because that will attribute to changing of schema at run time. I would be more than happy if anybody has a positive response for this.

Creation of views programatically

Hi I am more just wondering if this is possible
I have divided up my infopath form into sections using groups (with uniform names) so that I can identify them separately in the datasource, I was then looking to be able to copy the contents of these groups and create new views and paste them in. The copying of all of the parts is not the problem but I cant seem to find any resources on creating views programatically in infopath
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks
