Link to the template.xsn in SharePoint to open a new form or a link to the xxxx.xml file in the library and windows will open that xml document in InfoPath on the client's machine.

If you need a way to display available files, you could embed the SharePoint library in a frame or use the list webservice, like you would in InfoPath, to display the files in the library and give them a link to each.

Re: Form Integration

the reason to keeping sharepoint is the ease of use to be able to publish a template instead of configuring my site to be able to publish my template too

Re: Form Integration

What my thoughts are is to have Sharepoint in the background, and just have the ability to pull up a specific infopath xml file from an asp.net website. All client machines will have infopath installed and we will be keeping infopath as a client. So it seems like i can just create a hyperlink to that xml file ?

Re: Form Integration

If you just want to trigger InfoPath then all you would need is a hyperlink to the document or template.

I am guessing though you want to not have to depend on InfoPath as a client and host the XML yourself.

IPFS in MOSS 2007 gives you this ability. If you are going to try and do it your self you would have to start from scratch and recreate the whole form and then inject any exisitng XML.

Form Integration

I am looking to open an infopath xml form from an ASP.NET website. I know that sharepoint stores the xml files in a shared folder on the server. Do you know if i will need to build the whole form and schema or can i just use a File.Open method in C# to do it? I would like it to work like Sharepoint where the user would click and it would give them the open, save, or cancel window. Thanks for any replies.
