And then have your task pane JS code call into main form code to have it do the setdirty/close.

Open new form from link in custom task pane

Hi--

Is there a way to open a new infopath form from a link in a custom task pane that does not require the form to be full trust?

Here is what I want to do--Open a new form, SetDirty(false) for the old form and close the old form.

Here are the problems I have encountered so far: Using a javascript function that first uses open("templateurl.xsn") then takes care of SetDirty and Close works, but the "open" part is painfully slow.

Creating a new ActiveXObject("Infopath.Application") works...but requires changes to Internet Explorer security that won't be acceptable to my network admin, even for intranet use.

If I use an anchor in the html and set the href to my xsn and then call a function that handles the SetDirty and Close....the function fires before the link opens.

Any thoughts? Thanks--Hilary
