Most of our users do not have them, and so this is the process we use. They are able to click on a web link and it autoinstalls for everyone who will use that machine. This also allows us to make it almost impossible to edit the form that we deploy, because we can set rights to the folder that they cant get to, but a desktop shortcut can.

Re: Commandbars

Hi BrownR,
Thanks for posting, but what issues were you seeing opening the MSI? I've used Orca before, but why not just send the MSI to people? Create the form, with full-trust.
2. Use regform to create and MSI. You will need .net
3. Use a program from Microsoft (which is free) named "Orca" to make the changes needed to the MSI, I couldnt get .NET to open the MSI without issue.
4. Use CPAU fromhttp://www.joeware.net/win/free/tools/cpau.htm freeware to create the process of installing the MSI for all users with a desktop shortcut, and using a admin account to do just that.(This can be tricky but works awsome.)
5. After you have done all this then take everything you have and package them into a winzip package.
6. Take the winzip package and create a EXE , which winzip can make if it is a registered product.
7. Create a weblink to this EXE on an intranet page, or let people know where its at on the network.

I hope this helps. I know i went around and around trying to figure out how i was going to have an install that any user can install at any given time. So far so good

Re: Commandbars

Deploying FT forms is costly because it requires users to do something.

Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]
InfoPathDev

Re: Commandbars

Hi,

I believe that you need full trust. Is there an alternative to hiding Microsoft standard menus and toolbars without using a method that requires full trust?
