There is one small chance, I hoped you may suggest:

1. As soon as the Application object is instantiated, the InfoPath process is created, and the "main window handle" is allocated.

2. I can easily gat that handle, using the Process API.

3. If there is a way to derive the "Control" object associated with that handle, I would have the access to the Show and Hide methods. However, the best I was able to get is the "NativeWindow" object, which does not have these methods.

So, the question is whether the path outlined here leads somewhere (I do not mind dropping to the Win32 API calls, of course)

Thanks in advance

Nik

Re: Controling Infopath Window

I don't know that what you are asking for is currently possible.

Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

Controling Infopath Window

I would like to be able to completely define everything I need (document to open, windows title, size and position) before the InfoPath shows up on the screen. This is needed to improve the impression that InfoPath is integrated with my application.

The closest I came to this, using the InfoPath 2003 Toolkit for VS.NET was to get InfoPath pop-up the moment when the line like
xDocument = editor.XDocuments.Open(documentPath, 1); (editor being the instance of the ApplicationClass class. However this is not good enough, as the InfoPath window is alredy visible and at a wrong position.

The WindowObject class has a number of usable attributes, but unfortunately, not the method I need - which the Show method of the Control class.

Is there a way to do what I need?

Thanks in advance

Nik
