InfoPath closing without opening form - problem with vbscript

I am in a team in a large organisation that supports a number of InfoPath forms. We are having a strange problem with one form in particular since a few weeks ago. We have narrowed it down to the fact that a recent Microsoft Office update that our IT group rolled out, specifically version/update 2402. Basically those PC's that don't have the update can open this form ok, but for those that have the update installed, InfoPath will open briefly, but then close out before the form opens. I admit I'm not an InfoPath expert, but I do know that form references a number of VB scripts. As such, we have narrowed down the issue to one line of code (in a large file of other functions). Specially, it seems be when it does this - "set gobjXDocument = window.external.window.XDocument". The two lines that precede this are "window.returnValue = 1" and "set gobjXDocument = window.dialogArguments" When the line of code I mentioned s commented out, the form opens, but when it's not, we experience what I mentioned above where InfoPath will open, but then close without opening the form. Could anyone assist? Thanks in advance

Two or more Domains in an Active Directory

I have created a SharePoint 2013 Infopath form for Team Input. The first entry is their Work Standard ID Number. From that entry, I use a "GetUserProfileByName" data connection to the Soap Server. I need the form to bring me back the name of the person who owns the Standard ID Number. This works using the following concatenation: concat("i:0#.w|east\", Work Standard ID (field). This brings me the person's name who owns the Work Standard ID - until I reach a person who resides in a different domain such as "i:0#.w|west. Is there a way to string the concats to look in both domains, or "stack" them to check for both? I need the form to bring back the name and right now it just errors out because it is only doing a concat on one of the domains. Please assist! Thank You!!

Get Attachment Name

I have an IP 2003 form with C# code. The form has many attachment fields. I need to get the names of attachments and the document type from the attachment and place it in an output.

Does anybody know how to get the file name and document type from an attachment?

Delete rows when checkbox is false

having a repeating table with several columns and a 'verified' checkbox.

on button click, delete all rows of a repeating table where the checkbox is not checked, so leaving only the rows with checked boxes.

Hello Everyone, I have an Infopath 2013 form, which pulls some records info from a sql servers. I want a manual query, I have a field - QuestionID on each line of the repeating table, where user will enter a QuestionID. The search button will look up records in the SQL DB . The first line works perfectly. Problem happens when I add a new line - the query is stuck on the first search. I would like to requery the data for the new record. below is my code. How can I apply a rule to clear a field's value?

I need to delete the contents of a field when particular selections are made. I was attempting to create a rule which lists the conditions then have the action be to set a field's value. I want the field to be blank and I can't see how to do this.

Displaying many items on a calculated field

The setup is as such. One main list, Then a second list with a look up column for the asset items that include, Asset tag, Serial number, model number and such. Then on infopath 2013, create a form on the main list. Then add the lookup column as a multi-selection type to only show the asset tag, Make sure to have two data sources for the lookup. One for the Asset Tags and one for the Items. So Data source with ID and Tag and the other named. Asset Items that will import serial numbers and models and such. I'm able to display one serial number at time, Based on the asset tag selected, But I need to be able to have to display more than one serial number if I choose more than one asset tag.

Using code to save locally with "domain" as trust level

I am making a form that will be used by people on the exact same computer and then it will be saved locally. It is to store data for delivery guys, so they fill in some information on a form and then head out. Now at night, all these forms will be processed by another script (using Robotic Process Automation).

So I needed to make a button that would save the form locally with a certain unique filename and would then close the form. This all works fine on my local machine, with a "full trust" security level and using the following code:

Now the problem arises when I move this form into my work environment. By the system settings it will not allow a form with "Full trust". So I thought to change the trust level to "domain", but then it seems that all the "System.IO" calls (such as "Directory.GetCurrentDirectory()" or more importantly "this.SaveAs" and "System.Environment.Exit(0)" ) will not work.

I do not think I can reach my system administrator to allow for full trust forms. So I really wonder whether it is possible to save a file within a domain trust setting. The file will be stored locally, in the same map as the form is openend, so the user account from which the form is accessed will have rights to read and write within the folder. But I still get the following error:

I have a number field and if the number is greater than zero the form needs to show an up arrow. If less than zero, a down arrow. What is the best way to do this?

Boolean function with two expressions

Hi, In a form we got a text field which should always contain 0 as value. Right now the value is based on an expression: 1. number(boolean(contains(../my:Title, "UDBUD AF"))) [THIS WORKS] I want to combine this expression with another check which contains an AND function. 2. number(boolean([/my:F_x00e6_llesudbud = "Nej" AND /my:F_x00e6_llesudbud_x0020__x002d__ = ""]). So if (1) AND (2) is true I get the value 2. I can't figure out how to combine the two expressions. Could someone help me? Best regards Morten

Encoding an attachment to Base64 with VBA

I've been able to encode the files themselves, but the first portion of the attachment in Base64 appears to be specific to InfoPath. This is even documented in the URL below and I found some VB code, but I don't have the background to understand it. I have an example below. I just need to figure out what to encode for the "unknown" section. If I can figure out what to encode. I Used the decoder at https://www.browserling.com/tools/base64-decode to decode the "unknown" section below and it decodes to "U ". If I can figure out what this is supposed to be, I think I'll have everything I need. From code components - required on users' workstations?

Hello,

So far I've been able to do everything I need with InfoPath without writing any code. I would like to create a Save button that saves the form to a network drive. From what I've found, it appears I need to write some code to do this.
When I go to start editing code for my new button, I get the error below that I am missing programming components.

My question is; does everyone else who uses the form have to download and install the components (see listbelow):

Can anybody help how to extract/find attached picture or file size of file or picture control at design time or using code behind (.Net or J/Vb script) at some event handler. Basically i have a form which is having many file/picture attachment controls in different sections, But while submitting i want to make sure that attachment size is limited to some KBs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Calculating Business Days Between Two Dates

I am attempting to follow the alecpojidaev instructions to calculate the amount of working days between two date pickers on my own form using this link: https://alecpojidaev.wordpress.com/2008/12/30/infopath-codeless-programming-walkthrough-2/ . However, after copying his rules directly from his form and running it on my own form, I continue to get errors. The error received when I choose a date on my form is: An error occurred in the form's rules or code. The number of rule actions or the number of calls to the OnAfterChange event for a single update in the data exceeded the maximum limit. The rules or code may be causing an infinite loop. To prevent this, ensure that the rule action or event handler does not update the data which causes the same rule action or event handler to execute. Is anyone aware of a quick fix to remedy these errors?

Adding new line to rich text box in c#

I'm trying to add a new line in a RichTextBox using the following: execSummary = execSummary.Replace(";", System.Environment.NewLine); //execSummary is a string I'm trying to replace every semi-column with a new line when the user presses a button, but what happens is that the semi column will only disappear and have a white space instead. Is there anyway I can add a new line using c#, or can I do it without coding? What is weird, when I show the modified text in a message box it is showing as it should be! But not when I check the rich text box .... o.O Thank you

System cannot find the file specified. InfoPath form 2007 opened using Infopath designer 2013.

I am migrating InfoPath 2007 form to 2010 to 2013. The form is developed in InfoPath 2007 and has code behind. I opened the form using InfoPath Designer 2013,updated data connections. When I clicked on Code Editor, code did not open, so I removed the code and hit Code Editor. It created a new Project and I added References, Web References and code and built it. Form works fine..But If I close the InfoPath designer and reopen the form again using designer, when i clicked on Code Editor it says "system cannot find the file specified". I am giving the right location, but it still says this.

Validation formula error

My client asked me to add a column validation on his sharepoint online list. The validation is when the column RAG Status is not equal to Green, the column Back To Green must have a value. I searched on many sites and, in meu lab this formula worked so well. When I tried on my client environment, I got the error: "Sometinhg went wrong..." 'New Record' in C#

I've been scouring the internet for the latter half of the day and trying various things but I can't seem to find the solution to my problem. I've read many a post asking a similar question but unfortunately most went unanswered and those that were answered - didn't help.

My question is basically: What does the button action 'New Record' actually do in terms of coding (i.e. underlying xml document, etc)? As a follow up to that question - how can you recreate the 'New Record' action programmatically in C#?

The basis of my problem is that I have an InfoPath 2007/2010 form that submits to an SQL table. After the form is submitted, it needs to be cleared, ready for more data entry and submission (rinse and repeat as many times as required). I don't want the user to have to click a 'Submit' button and then a 'New Record' button - I figure that it should be doable in C#. There are other reasons why I need to recreate the 'New Record' functionality too but "the why" is not important so I'll focus on the scenario I've just defined.

Two of the main suggestions that I've come across are summarised below with the reason why they don't help:

After the form has submitted, query the database with an incorrect ID (i.e. -1) so that no data is returned. Although this clears the form, it also makes it read only so it's useless in the context of submitting the form again.
Create a load event that records the initial OuterXml as a private string value and then simply replace the OuterXml with the private string value when you need to create a new record (i.e. after submission). This seems to work but on inspection of the SQL table I realised that every time the OuterXml is replaced and a submission is made, the previous submission is deleted/overwritten. So if you submit 10 forms without closing the form itself down, the only submission that would remain at the end would be the last. It's more of a delete than an overwrite as the SQL key still increments by one each submission rather than just overwriting a particular row.

I think that InfoPath points to a row in the database and even if you change various properties such as the OuterXml (or set all elements and attributes to zero, etc), it still remains pointing to the same row. The only way it seems to move to a new row is if you add a 'New Record' button to the form and click that.

So in summary, I need to recreate what 'New Record' does without having to dedicate a button/mouse click to it. Any ideas?

Dynamically enable/disable "changed" Event handlers?

Does anyone know if there's a way to programmatically enable/disable "Changed" event handlers in VB? I have a form with 11 repeating sections that are built out using VB loops. Each time a row is added, my "Changed" event handlers get triggered. Although the first line of the "Changed" event sub is an "if not (flag) then return" which stops the Changed event at the first line of the sub, it still slows down my code execution. With the event handlers enabled I'm averaging ~142 seconds to execute my loops. With the event handlers disabled, I'm averaging 80 seconds. Big difference when you're waiting for the form to build out and be usable.

I have already tried moving "AddHandler" and "RemoveHandler" outside of the Startup method and received error messages for such. Was wondering if anyone else knew of some tricks to stop these change events from triggering?

Calling a https webservice from code in a InfoPath Web Form (SP2013)

Hi,

I've wrote some c# code to do a https webrequest to an external webservice from my InfoPath form. Unfortunately the webservice could not be configured via the standard data connections. Because the external webservice only permits https request, an SSL certificate needs to be present in the store. When I run the InfoPath form in Filler mode, it will find the certificate in the store on my PC. So that works. But from SharePoint it doesn't, because it can't find the certificate. The error message in the applcation log is pretty clear about that.

My question? Where do I install the certifcate, so it will run in InfoPath Services?

I've installed it on the SharePoint Server, but no luck there.
