We have a Web service called DBXL that you can use to quickly parameterize and filter queries to a SQL database. The query string is data driven which means you have one Web method for all queries reducing the complexity of your form's data connections. In addition, you can update this query dynamically to requery on the fly. The Web service comes with a tool called Query Builder that simplifies the process of creating initial queries and subsequent requeries.

Please let us know if you'd link a demo.

It should have one function which can be passed the SQL statement, and it should return the required values.

I tried to pass the values back as a DataSet (as described for example here). Unfortunately InfoPath doesn't seem to be able to handle the DataSet properly: It shows the Result, but not the DataSet, any tables or fields in it.

Do you have any idea how to accomplish this task?

Thanks Pascal
