Thanks for the save...again lol. I haven't had a chance to try the solution you sent, but I'm pretty sure it will do the trick. I'll let you know when I get a chance to implement. Thanks Again!

I'm attaching an example that shows how to copy repeating data.

Please review the notes in the sample.

There are two approaches.

One is out-of-box but requires that you add blank rows to your repeating section via the default values wizard. Of course, you can hide the rows if they're blank so no real trouble there.

The other approach is cleaner but uses qRules. qRules is code, but it's form template agnostic. You can use it for all your form templates. You access qRules commands via rules and xpath.

Good luck!

Autopopulating a field in a repeating section from a data source

Hello IP Gods...I'm stuck =(

I have an infopath form with a repeating section in it. Inside the repeating section is a field I want to autopopulate from a secondary based upon information on the form. So it would be something like this:

*/Filter Criteria/*
Country
Office
Goals

*/Repeating Section/*
Objective <-- want to auto populate this field within the repeating section which is the header for a ton of other fields within the repeat.

All this information is being pulled from a secondary source (basically an excel file dumped into a sharepoint list). I might have 3-5 objectives for each goal, and I need the repeating section to replicate for each objective, but right now it's only grabbing the first item from the secondary list and is not causing the repeating section to replicate for each objective.

To make matters more complicated I cannot use code (C#/VB), only xpath statements and rules.

Hope that made sense to someone besides me lol. Any help would be appreciated
