Just have a question regarding on filtering a REST connection to a SharePoint List, is there a way to effectively build the REST Url if I'm getting the filter value from a couple of text box in an Infopath form. If I have 3 text box (where I'm getting the filter value from)and one of those 3 text box is blank, is there a way to include only on the REST URL the two text box that is not blank.

Regards,

Rommel

Re: How to build REST URL with logic

Thank you for your response. I couldn't get the Fx button to work - it seemed to populate incorrect syntax for the rest URL. The odata site was very helpful. I was able to create this:

webapp/departments/it/hd/_vti_bin/listdata.svc/ServiceRequests?$top=5&$orderby=Id desc&$filter=StatusValue eq 'Completed' to accomplish what I needed.

Thank you for your help!

Re: How to build REST URL with logic

Click on the Fx button and use the concat function to dynamically build it. For example: concat(http://webapp/sitecollection/_vti_bin/listdata.svc/ListName?$filter=StatusValue ne 'Assigned' &$orderby=, Id) where Id is a field you insert from your form's data source. To add the ModifiedDate and PriorityValue just add the condition to the filter using and/or operators. The free Sesame browser will help you build up expressions. Or, you can just look up the syntax on the OData site. I have a functioning REST Web Service that populates a drop down list on an InfoPath form from a SharePoint list. The URL looks something like this:

http://webapp/sitecollection/_vti_bin/listdata.svc/ListName?$filter=StatusValue ne 'Assigned' &$orderby=Id desc

I am looking to enhance this URL by adding some additional logic that includes the following:

'ModifiedDate' greater than 7 days ago
'PriorityValue' between 1 and 5

I cannot figure out the syntax to get this to work. Can anyone advise??

Much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jesse
