If the user accesses the site via one URL and the data connection uses the other URL, I believe the query will fail.

The query must use the same URL where the form was opened from.

Re: form in a library cant query its own library?

2010 all around.

i did notice one thing...we have an alias in our sp site of http://roundup.xxx.local that some people go to and another alias people can get to sharepoint via the actual host name of http://xxx-svr1.xxx.local

would this possiblly cause this issue?

Re: form in a library cant query its own library?

What version of SharePoint is this? The list could not be found.

this makes no sense to me. i converted the receive connection to a data connection file, and it works now, but i want to know why i dont have to do this in a different form library.

any ideas are appreciated.
