I also add noredirect=true for ShP 2010, if you are using that.

You get the same error when you use XML for the source?

What happens if you try the URL in the browser window?

In Infopath I am selecting Tools-Data Connections.
Clicking the Add button
Choosing Create New Connection - Receeive Data
Choosing Web service for source
Pasting in the above url

When I click Next I get the following error message: File or Folder '<<url from above>>' contains characters that are not permitted. Enter a different name. I have repeated this changing the source to XML & Sharepoint list. Same result. I copy/pasted everything into the url, so the list charaters are correct. Am I making the correct assumption on what I am supposed to do with the url string?

If it's the former, I think you can set up an owssvr.dll data connection to perform the filter and this doesn't need to be converted to UDCX. If it's the latter, qRules' FilterOwssvr command works great for this, and that also does not require UDCX.

Retrieving a subset of a sharepoint list using udcx

Is there a way to have a udcx connection bring in a subset of a sharepoint list. I don't want the whole list and you can't filter it when using Form Services. I work in a large corporate enviorment so upgrading to sharepoint 2010 isn't going to happen anytime soon. Also custom web services are off the table. I am using this sharepoint list as a preferences list for various forms I will be creating. If I can't filter. I will have to build this list in a really stupid way to make it work. So my last ditch effort is to see if udcx can work.
