I am completely clueless as far as creating a web service goes. At the end of last week I configured Microsoft Single Sign-On on my SharePoint farm. I edited my data connection file as mentioned in the article I linked above. Now I am at least getting an error on my MOSS WFE server.

The following query failed: LOCAL_TEST1 (User: ADMIN\davidz, Form Name: LOCAL_TEST1, IP: , Request: http://XXX.XXXX.XXXX/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=http://XXX.XXXX.XXXXX/sites/formstest/LOCAL_TEST1/Forms/template.xsn&SaveLocation=http://XXX.XXXX.XXXXX/sites/formstest/LOCAL_TEST1&Source=http://XXX.XXX.XXXXX/sites/formstest/LOCAL_TEST1/Forms/AllItems.aspx&DefaultItemOpen=1, Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:LOCAL-TEST1:-myXSD-2011-11-17T20-52-03, Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: Logon failed for user ADMIN\username.
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password)

For some reason, ADMIN\username is being passed along? I'm not sure where it is getting the username, "username".

If I can't get this working in the next day or so I will begin looking into creating a web service immediately.

Re: An error occured accessing the data source

Hi David,

You mentioned you had an MSSQL database on your local machine. Is the form configured to connect to SQ? If so, it won't work on another machine unless that machine has SQL, with the same ODBC connections enabled.

If the form does not use SQL at all, it should work fine.

So, I'm guessing you have a SQL-DB backed form and that it won't work unless a) everyone has access to a SQL database that is on a server, or b) you have a Web service that the form calls to query and submit to SQL.

Best of luck,

P

An error occured accessing the data source

The above error is one I have not been able to get around for over a month now. My situation is:

A MSSQL database loaded on my local machine

MOSS 2007 sp2 server farm with three servers

InfoPath Designer 2010

When I preview the form on my local machine it works. However once published to a SharePoint Form Library, I get the above error regardless of what I've tried. This includes:

Issued the form as "Full Trust", uploaded the form and it's appropriate UDCX data connection file to SharePoint Central Admin, and activated to the site collection.

Turned off all firewalls on my local machine.

Tested on another database which is known to be working for other applications.

Set up and configured Single Sign-On and adjusted the data connection file accordingly, similar to this thread (4th or 5th post): http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/10213/38275.aspx#38275

Joined both the SharePoint servers and my local machine to the same domain (I do have multiple domains in my environment).

Upgrading to MOSS 2007 sp2

Unfortunately this is the extent of the error I am getting. I really thought configuring Single Sign-On would take care of the problem but I'm still getting the exact same error. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
