Thanks Hilary for your suggestions. The data connection wizard doesn't work ( IP2010 closes down and restarts and I get the same error in the Even Viewer : Event ID 1000 Faulting application name : INFOPATH.EXE, faulting module name IPDESIGN.DLL Exception code 0xc0000005 ). I think another option would be to go and change manually each of those udcx files and recreate any of data connection in the new format for IP 2010. Do you know any good resource for converting the data connections and the udcx files? The above error happen with all the forms I've designed in IP2007 that have data connections stored in a SharePoint 2010 data connection library. I've also tried to create a IP2007 form in IP2010 and to add a data connection and everything works fine. Saving the forms as IP2010 don't work because I get the mentioned error : " Sharepoint library or list data connection must be upgraded to the InfoPath 2010 format". Other thoughts ?

Well, as to your question about upgrading data connections -- InfoPath 2010 uses a different format for SharePoint data connections, and it is telling you that to save your form as an IP 2010 form, you need to upgrade those. You may want to try walking through the data connection wizard again for those.

As to your initial error -- does it happen with just this form? Or with any form? If you try to create a new IP 2007 form using your IP 2010 install, does it crash when you add a data connection? If so, repair or re-install IP 2010. If it is just the form itself, you may want to try saving a copy of it as IP 2010 form, see what happens when you try to add a data connection....

I'm trying to add a new data connection in InfoPath 2010 to a form designed initially in InfoPath 2007. The form has already several secondary data connection files (udcx files) stored in a Sharepoint 2010 data connection library. The InfoPath 2010 just closes down and restarts in this process and the error in the Even Viewer is Event ID 1000 Faulting application name : INFOPATH.EXE, faulting module name IPDESIGN.DLL Exception code 0xc0000005

I've also tried to design the same form in InfoPath 2010 and save as "InfoPath Web Browser Form Template" but the error I'm getting is "SharePoint library or list data connection must be upgraded to the InfoPath 2010 format". What that means ?

Does anyone have a solution for this problem ?
