We do it all of the time from SQL (we store our XMLs there). It's a very powerful data-driven approach since it makes it easy to config forms on open based on dynamic query. However, to do it dynamically from SharePoint will require some code or qRules. That's because the data connection to the XML file is dynamic. If you map the contents of all of the XMLs to a set of SharePoint lists, you could query those lists in a filtered and cascading way to get the data too.

Accessing repeating data from InfoPath 2010 forms in a library

Imagine this scenario:

I have one InfoPath 2010 form with the following data structure:

User

Address

Cars

Car

Type

Model

Year

This form is stored in a SharePoint 2010 form library

I then have another form where I want to use the previous form library as a datasource. But I want to show the contents of this datasource in a repeating section where each section has a repeating table of the user's list of cars.

So is it possible to access repeating data from a list of infopath forms?

With thanks,
H.
