Change email format when submitting via email data connection

I have a infopath form that submits the form as an email attachment to an application. The application must receive the email in rich text or plain text format. The problem I have is that some people are using HTML as their default format in Outlook and the email is submited as HTML format which the app can't read. Is there a way to modify the Infopath Data Connection for submitting an email to force it to be a rich text or plain text format even though the Outlook client default is HTML?

I am currently using vbscript to populate the subject and introduction fields. I didn't know if there was a way to do this via vbscript or some setting I'm missing in infopath?
