submit to DB amends field value

Hello all.

I have an InfoPath 2003 form which is submitted both to the DB (1) and to SharePoint Library (2). Furthermore I use several data connections as a secondary data sources to populate cascade dropdown lists.

Now I face very strange incident. After the form is submitted to the DB the entries in one dropdown list disappear (and submitting to the SharePoint fails as this field is mandatory). But I have 3 more dropdown lists in the form which look up in different secondary data sources for the entries and these are fine after the submit.

Does anyone know the cause of this strange incident? Or is it standard behavior that secondary data sources are reset after/on submit? (but then what about the 3 dropdowns that are ok after submit?).
