Does it need to be enabled on all front end web servers as well. My current SharePoint topology is 2 WFEs, 1 App and DB cluster.

Besides the registry are there any other solutions i can try?

Re: Error when connecting to an XML SharePoint list datasource (error 5566)

I think u should check http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/7676/43513.aspx link. the issue has been addressed in that also.

Error when connecting to an XML SharePoint list datasource (error 5566)

Hi,

I'm getting back the cannot connect to datasource, 5566 error when trying to connect to an XML SharePoint list datasource. example data connect url (http://server/explicitsitecollection/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?Cmd=Display&List=GUID&View=GUID&XMLDATA=TRUE)...

I'm using a SharePoint list to manage vendors and populate a drop down in my browser enabled form. New vendors will be added and removed frequently in SharePoint, so i need to the InfoPath drop down to be dynamic. I originally connected directly to the SharePoint list through the data connection wizard, but this returned a non sorted list (default sort is by list ID). In order for me to get an alpa sorted list i had to connect to a list view through the xml url. When i plug in the xml url, i can see the correct list...The only way I can get the xml datasource to work, is when i include as an resource file, but this only provides a static list for my drop down. I have 2 drop downs that need to be dynamically loaded, since they are being managed in SharePoint.

The Infopath Form and SharePoint list exist within the same site collection.

When i load the form, i'm getting the cannot connect to datasource 5566 error.

I'm working in a development enviroment that has .net 3.5 sp1 installed and sp2 for SharePoint 2007 (version 12.0.6421). I'm publishing and testing the list with the admin account that has full access on the server and site.

I've checked everywhere for a solution and can't find anything. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this and or can you point in the right direction to different posting.

Thanks for your help.
