Welcome to the forum!

How are you checking if the main email address is valid or not? Your guess is that it throws error when an invalid email address is populated in the CC field, correct? How about adding a conditional formatting to your Submit button that checks if the email address (the one that's supposed to populate your CC field with) is valid or not, and then disable the button if it's invalid? That way, your users won't be able to click on that button to submit unless the email address entered is valid.

Hope that helps!

Using formulas to populate the cc email field

Hi there,

My form is created in IP2003, and i have 5 email data connections which are chosen by rules on the submit button, this has worked okay up till now.
but i have had a request to add another 2 variables as to where the email might might be cc'd to.
to resovle this the same way i would have to create an expontetialy more data connections, and rules and the order they apply in, there has to be an easier way.

i tried putting a empty field in the formula for the cc field, then create a rule to populate this field with the value of another field(Valid email address) and this actually worked, but it threw up an error when the condition wasnt meet and the field was blank, i guess the data connection was looking for a valid email address.

Any thoughts?
