After some slogging, I was able to complete this task. I was slowed for some time b/c it seems that even when I specify that a field is numeric in infopath, moss takes it as text. Not sure why that is, but once I realized that I was able to debug things and move along.

Cheers,

I'm a complete newbie with what I hope is an interesting question. I am trying to create a form to be hosted on a sharepoint list. The form filled out monthly and will contain the following pertainent fields:

Project Name (from a secondary data sharepoint list)
Month
Year
Planned for this month
Accomplished this month
Planned for Next Month

My issue is this: I want to populate the "Planned for This Month" field with the contents of "Planned for Next Month" from the previous month's form, so that the user isn't retyping or having to manually cut and paste the info. I have been trying to figure out a filter that would allow me to know which list item is appropriate. I've set it up so that the Year field automatically populates the "Planned for this Month" field, and added conditions to ensure that the year and project are filled out before the year is active. My problem is coming up with a workable way of identifying the needed filter. I've tried doing things like creating a "Year and Month as Number" field that contains the concatenated year and month fields and then filtering on that field in the form -1. I've even added both the "Year and Month As Number" field and a calculated field that displays "Year and Month As Number" minus 1. Although the numbers seem to work out, the form still doesn't seem to be behaving as I'd hoped.

Does anyone have a thought on what I may be doing wrong. Better yet, is there a way that i can filter using the date fields? Keep in mind, I'm only looking for the right year and month. The form may be filled out on any day of the month.

Thanks in advance for your help,
