My email address is bfringer@lsaservices. I think I would be interested.

My approach right now is generating an SQL script that will copy the current record set based on current ID and then perform a paste and append to the Main Data Connection. I will then read the new record ID and query the data connection for the new record.

Thanks !

You can use code to template a record or with web services there may be some ways to architect it to give this functionality.

If you would like to see a demonstration of InfoPath and SQL interaction via web services and discuss your requirements, send me an email.

Insert a new record

Is there any way to copy or create a new record(s) from the data associated with the current record (DOM node). In other words: I need to perform a copy and then do a paste append to the main data connection and then open that record for editing within the form.

I know that I can use the New Record fucntion in the button properties but I want the data of the current record copied (DOM node) to the new record. I am using backend SQL tables. I have approixmately 20 tables in the main data connection.

Any help would be appreciated.
