Is it true that it is difficult to add new fields or make updates to fields when you created the form from a Data Source(SQL Server)? Has something to do with the XML not being able to handle the changes so I was hoping there was a way to do it without using a Web Service or the Database Accelerator.

Re: InfoPath form created from a SQL Database Datasource

What is the error you are getting? When does it occur? It could be that you are failing to update SQL because there are some required fields (red asterisk) that aren't filled in or because there are some field with invalid data (like a date picker with a text value -- red dashed border).

AND, if not all nodes are represented by fields are in the view, it could be coming from a node that you can't even see.

InfoPath form created from a SQL Database Datasource

I have an InfoPath form created from a SQL Database Data source. I need to make some updates/changes to the SQL tables but when I do I get an error on the form. I re-do my data connection but I still get an error. I know I could use a Web Service or your Database Accelerator but I wanted to know if there was a way to make changes to to the SQL tables the way my form is currently setup. I am using JScript code. I have 4 views on one form. I am on an InfoPath 2003 platform.

I exported the form and made changes to my XML and XSD files. It worked but how do I save it back to my form library?

I was using the info from here...
