If you are going to be working with database information you are going to probably need web services and I would recommend checking out the Database Accelerator, which is a whole suite of webservices that you can use right out of the box. Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1 - Developer

Especially if you want to submit the data to a database after the preview you will need web services.

You definetaly cn display both sets of data and merge them together in the form to "preview". Depending on the amount and type of data you may want to use seperate views rather than columns.

Keep the questions coming.

Previewing Data Submission Changes Prior to a Data Merge

I believe that I have 2 questions here. I'm not sure if InfoPath offers these capabilities.

I'm about to create a form that will merge records from multiple tables. I'd like to create a 3 column form. The first column is data group A. The middle column is data group B. The final column is a preview screen of what happens if the user click submit.

The first 2 columns are pulling data from an SQL database from the same set of tables. (I suppose that I need to create 2 data connections to the same tables.) I'm trying to merge the records into one set, but I would like to use the third column for a preview screen that will display the end result if the user clicks a 'Merge' button,

So my two questions are, can InfoPath offer a preview screen and can it do merges of data with a few checks for database structure problems like redundant keys?

Any information regarding these two questions would be very helpful. Thank you.
