I've never seen that. Can you save the XML, remove that and try to open locally? Does your query not generate the right XML? If yuou can save the XML to your local file system, I'd try to look at the actual text to see if there isn't some strange character (use the command line hd.exe tool). Or, just try to remove that strange construct and then reopen.

A name was started with an invalid character

I'm rebuilding my original cancer tracking form, because, frankly, it sucked, and the orthopedic surgeon is gone this week, and its hard to work on it without him. anyways, done with my life story.

I created a new database in access. There are several queries that help pull out specific records for a report. However, one query is giving me hell.

On the machine I used to build the form, the form works fine. However, when I switch to another machine (I have tried 3 others) i get the following error when I try to open the form.

Form template: file:///\\VHAWNYFSG1\WNY-COM$\WNY-Hematology-Oncology\Cancer%20Tracking\Test.xsn
The following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized: Query1
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: Query1
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The file is not a valid XML document.

A name was started with an invalid character.

Line 546, Position 3
</>
--^

Ive gone back to the database, created a new query and copy and pasted the SQL code into the new query and the error returns. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Thanks

Justin
