To get it working with an Access database you either need to create the form initially as connected to the database or have to write code to connect an existing form to a database.

Another way to handle this scenario is to use our Qdabra Database Accelerator product which allows you to connect existing forms to a DB along with getting a whole host of other useful database features. This works with SQL not Access but it's another option to consider. You can read about that at:<br /http://www.qdabra.com/categories.asp

Please download the free trial and try it out.

Re: Db relationship from Infopath Xml file

I am not quite setup yet and infact I have to run out the door now :) But here is a link that might help you out:
<br /http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/ha011032471033.aspx

It specifically would give you an overview of what you are dealing with. Infopath can defenitly submit data that a user enters to both an access database and allow you to store the information offline
as an xml file.

Though importing the xml file alone into Access may not be supported by Access(I am not 100 percent sure). You see at the root level of infopath, your XML file is your primary data source usually. Infact when your export your Infopath form, you will notice that there are a few files exported.

What happens is that through XML technologies, your xml data is combined with XSLT to create the HTML output. That's right an infopath form when viewed is actually rendered like a webpage.

Well, that is atleast the way I see it, but hopefully that article might help you.

Thanks,
John

Db relationship from Infopath Xml file

I need to import an Infopath xml file to an Access mdb, but all relations from tables not appair on Db. For example, Infopath acquire:

Nation (repeated section)
Region (repeated section)
City (repeated section)

After acquired data, I create Xml file. When I import it on Access Db, I find 3 tables on it (Nation, Region and City) without relationship. There is a way, starting from xml file, to generate a valid mdb (or other Db) structure, with correct relationship ?
Thanks in advance.

p.s.: sorry for my english, i am italian
