On the other side there's an InfoPath form that should load the checked values from one entry (e.g. Sales AND Construction).

When trying to access the values over a data connection in two different ways, my result is either this one (the given result just contains the first value):

 Marketing

x Sales

 Construction

or that one (the given result is not ticking the single values, InfoPath creates a new value...):

 Marketing

 Sales

 Construction

x SalesConstruction

Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution to display my list entry the following way in the InfoPath form:

 Marketing

x Sales

x Construction

Do you have any idea on how to solve this problem?

Re: Passing values INTO a multi-select list box

Hi Patrick,

I need to do the above explained scenario as I have a multi select list box - which needs to get its values from an external list based on some values entered in other fields in the form.

Can anyone help me with this ?

Re: Passing values INTO a multi-select list box

I wouldn't use a Multi-Select List box for this. Just use a repeating table that looks like one. You can always concatenate the results into a single string later if you want using the eval-eval technique.

Passing values INTO a multi-select list box

Hello all,

There have been a lot of very helpful and informative posts about taking values checked in a multi-select list box and concatenating them into an expression field or text box - but what about the reverse?

SITUATION: I am building a form that will be used to assign employees permissions to services and products based on their role. When we select a job title from a dropdown, I'd like a rule to fire off that sets values in other fields. So far, this hasn't been a problem with populating radio buttons, dropdowns, text boxes, etc.. However, I have a multi-select list box that populates using a SharePoint list for values. I'd like to pass values to it so that certain items will be checked. But when I pass a value to it, it simply adds another checkbox with all the values I want listed one after another.

Has anyone done this before with any success? How did you go about it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
