So... I went to my data connections... and went to "modify" my "Main Connection". When I did this, I unchecked "allow multiple....", and clicked next, and completed the wizard. Although I do not think unchecking that box fixed the problem... I think my kind of "re-syncing" my database to my form corrected the problem (since, I had been playing around with the data types in the database).

So now, I have all the fields as text. If I need to worry about making them numbers later, I can convert text to number.

Re: Invalid Data for decimal values pulled from database

How do I do that?

The annoying thing is that this same phenomenon is occurring for ALL FIELDS in my form that are numbers with decimals in my database. Regardless of how I configure the fields in the database and/or in the infopath form, they still populate with that annoying red box around them - preventing me from submitting the form.

For some reason now, the field with the 5 decimal places no longer has the red box around it. I don't know what I did, but I checked everything I could think of. But all my other decimal numbers have the red box.

Re: Invalid Data for decimal values pulled from database

Silly idea but why not just copy the value to a text field using a substring function to get all of the digits before the decimal point and the first five after the decimal point.

Invalid Data for decimal values pulled from database

Hello,

OK - this problem is driving me crazy! I searched all over the internet and found similar problems, but nothing that has solved my problem.

I have a data field in my main connection that is configured as a number with 5 decimal places. I want it to store a number with 5 decimal places. It is populated in my form based on a secondary data source field, that is also configured as a number with 5 decimal places. When my form populates this field, a red dashed box shows around it and when hovering over it it says "Invalid Data".

So, I tried changing the database field types, tried the "round" feature that is often shown as a "fix" to this problem (online forums), but nothing is working. The round feature works only if it results in a whole number.

Any help is appreciated.
