So, you have 1 very large form. Got it. Well, it's possible that your XSN was corrupted. You might try saving as source files and debugging. Sorry I can't be of much more help without looking more deeply into it. We do offer InfoPath help services if you want help from an MVP to debug the issue. My guess is that it isn't an InfoPath bug, but you should check to make sure there are no more recent service packs too.

Best of luck!

Re: infopath 2010 problem with fields/controls

Hi Patric and thanks for the answer,

splitting the form in two forms is not applicable in my case, as currently my users generate xml, which is submitted from one user to another. If I split the form from 1 to 3 forms (for instance), then the users will have to generate and submit to each other not one, but 3 xml files. I am sure that this will not only make it more difficult for them, but will also allow for technical mistakes.

Of course, if I have an option to make 3 forms, but if the data can be generated and signed in 1 xml file, then it works for me, but I am not sure that this is possible?

Re: infopath 2010 problem with fields/controls

hi Inorai,

First off, your form is too big. You should separate it out into separate forms.

Secondly, what you are trying to do should be possible (albeit with some rendering delays). Could be that the problem is related to low memory or editing rich text - I'm not sure.

I recommend splitting your form up.

infopath 2010 problem with fields/controls

I am developing a form with InfoPath 2010, which is with above 40 Views and above 2 300 fields.

Up to 2000 fields I had certain problems, but I managed to find solutions. However, since recently, when the field number exceeded 2000, the system started to cause problems, which I find difficult to solve. The problems are related to the following:

-I create a new View, and then I start to make fields and texts to the fields.

-I create a structure of about 70 rows, which consist of texts, check boxes, sections (with the purpose to use the hide options).

-I save the form, and then I go to another View (which obviously refreshes the form), and when I come back to the initial View, the real problem starts: the beginning of the initial View is OK, but since the middle of the View different anomalies start - the system deletes the texts, which are in controls (Sections), deletes the very controls, deletes fields as well, and the controls which remain undeleted are in "unbound" condition, and all is in the so called design regime. The same thing also happens in case I add new fields with texts to an already existing View.

I read a lot in the InfoPath forums about the maximal number of fields or other similar cases, but I could not find any help.
