I'm usings a multi selection listbox to display the cars, but there is no way to get the section for the pros and cons in between rows. What else can I provide to you or does that make sense?

Re: Nested display for each row in datasource

well create seperate section for all the cars then based on which checkbox is checked show the relevant section..

on each section have a conditional formatting

if relevant_checkbox is not equal to 1

hide this section

Re: Nested display for each row in datasource

Also, just in case it is not clear, I want the list to be populated dynamically, so as rows are added to the databse, the form will automatically pick up any updates or changes. I can hard code this but there are too many items and the data changes that I dont want the maintenance nightmare.

Nested display for each row in datasource

I am trying to create a display that lists items in a list with checkboxes. For each item (row) in that list, there could be 0-x additional rows of data related to the item I want displayed on subsequent rows. For instance, I can have Car Manufacturers at the top level, then pros and cons at the second level. I want a list of car manufacturer with a check box next to each one. When I check the box, I want the pros and cons specific to the car manufacture selected to unhide and show a side by side list of the pros and cons.

For instance, the initial display would be

Car Manufacturer 1

Car Manufacturer 2

Car Manufacturer 3

Then if I click the checkbox nexst to Car Manufacturer 2, it would look like ..

Car Manufacturer 1

Car Manufacturer 2

Pro 1 Con 1

Pro 2 Con 2

Pro 3

Pro 4

Car Manufacturer 3

So the info that hides based on the checkbox is related to the item in the checkbox - i.e. pros and cons for car manufacture 1 are different than that for car manufacturer 2 and so on. I'm new to this and going crazy trying to duplicate the presentation in an asp page that does the same thing.

Any ideas I'm really trying to first get the data to lay out right on the form, not worried about hiding the info based on the checkbox, I can do that...
