Patrick i see in this link http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/HP011552811033.aspx that current() is a function in infopath but it is not there when i go to insert function in my Infopath 2007 browser enabled form...do we have to install something to get this function.

Hello Patrick,

Greg posts were not detailed as such and i am not an infopath developer as such so could not understand the XML code he had.I also cannot see the function Current()..below is the detail of m problem..can you suggest me a simple solution

The problem

In the repeating table when i fill in the first row then the value of this first row is passed to a web service which gets the values back from database and populates the three fields..but when i insert another item and insert another id the first row id also changes and becomes of the same value as the second one and this process follows so if say i have filled 4 rows of the repeating table then in the whole table i will have 4 rows having the same data as the last row. ie it is updating all the rows based on the value entered in the student id and i want that it should update only the specific row..

2----------now when i insert 2 in the repeating table what it is doing is that it is updating the 1 also to two and showing values related to ID 2 but i want that for 1 it should show 1 and for 2 it should show values related to 2...

I want to know what exactly do i have to do like add event code or rules or what...i am using Browser enabled infopath 2007.... any help is much appreciated.

Hi SharePoint99,

You need to look at using current() when you set your field. Greg Collins has a bunch of posts on how to use this. Check out his blog on this site and search for current. Here's one example: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2004/07/08/Identify-the-Current-Table-Row.aspx.

Hello,

I have a repeating table in which 4 columns are there ..my requirement is that when user fills in say the first column which is the id the other three should autopopulate and this will happen when user fills in the id and click a button..what i did was i created a web service which takes the id value of the first column passes it to the web service and the web service gets data from the sql server 2008 database and it's working fine and getting and showing data
