1. The value of the text box can be set using a rule on the dropdown. When a user selects a value in the dropdown you can then make the value of the textbox the value from your XML resource file

2. You could also look at using the Master Detail control in InfoPath to show this data the way you want, master detail is a pretty cool control if you haven't tried that out already

I have tried using the text box control, but in the properties for this control there is no field to select the datasource. The list box properties has this option so I can select the xml file, but I am stuck without word wrapping.

Re: list box with xml not wrapping

Hi,

It looks like you don't have this fine grained control of the list box in InfoPath, there is no option to wrap text at all. So either you need to make sure that the list box is as wide as it needs to be in the UI of the form to show the longest value in your XML resource file (which is probably not practical) or use another control.

Why are you using a list box for this? It sounds like the dropdown chosen results in one value (defenition) - seems like using another control like a text box where you can wrap the text might be better?

I have created a form with a dropdown list that populates a listbox when an item is selected. When a term is selected from the pulldown menu the list box displays the appropriate definition that is stored in an xml file.

The problem is the results are not wrapping in the list box and I am unable to locate the option to allow this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
