I'm revising an IP form, and I want to change a data picker. Right now the datapicker is manually operated so to say. Users have to insert the date themselves. However, to prevent FRAUD with the dates, I want it to automatically display today's date. I have managed to find out how to do this. By un-checking the "update this value..." box, it shouldn't change when the next day the form is re-opened by an other person to edit other fields (it's a co-op form). Also, I've eliminated the possibility to edit the automatically selected date manually (for users) by putting it in a hidden field. This way the box's name stays the same, so meta-data isn't changed and I don't have to screw around with formula's and rules.

Now, this sounds perfect, and I think I'm the king of infopath (though I'm most likely not). However, I'm wondering if publishing this new form will have an impact on the forms already submitted (about 450-500 forms). If those forms all decide that they should rethink their own dates bacause of the new form template, I'm pretty much boned :(

In other words, can someone tell me if these dates will change if I publish the new template?

Thanks!
