People can click the link if they need to see the image. We do this in Sharepoint by using qRules.

Picture Control alternative

I am preparing a project, where we will use a lot of pictures (50-200) inside the InfoPath form.

The main concern here will be that, the form will be sent by email (possibly many times in workflow). If there is a lot of photos inside, the document could be quite big.

I am happy with the standard functionality of decreasing the resolution and size of the photos added to the form, but 250-300 kb (as observed) per picture it is still to much.

I have two solutions:

1. Make a size limit (using validation) on the control to prevent adding big pictures and give the users external tool to resize photos
2. Use another Picture Control which assures me right size of the picture. As I know, standard control allows to select only visible size of the control, not size in memory/file.

Questions:

1. Is there any option to resize the photo added using standard Picture Control?
2. Are there any alternative picture controls (open source or commercial) which allow me to save space through resizing?
3. Maybe there is another way of storing pictures inside the InfoPath form?

Waiting for answers

Krzysztof Deneka
