go to properties of repeating (table/section).

go to customize commands

in actions drop down select remove and uncheck every thing from location of control multiselect list box.

in actions drop down select remove all and uncheck every thing from location of control multiselect list box.

this should solve your problem

Re: Making the first node in a repeating section read only

Also, I have just noticed that when the text field is read only it can still be deleted. Is there any way to stop users deleting nodes from the repeating but still allowing them to insert a new node?

I've seen a few things but these include coding and that is something I don't know much about.

Re: Making the first node in a repeating section read only

This is perfect!

is there any way to add this expression to a button control so the text box will become read only?

Re: Making the first node in a repeating section read only

Use a condition with the expression position()="1" and make it read-only. You'll need to add that to all columns for the row.

Making the first node in a repeating section read only

Sorry I keep pestering you guys but it's a very useful forum!

I have a logging tool that will be used by our I.T Help Desk to log requests. I have included a repeating section with text fields. I would like to make the first text field within the repeating section read only and my collegues and then insert a new item to fill out more information.

Is this possible?
