https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/43.aspx enCommunityServer 2007 SP3 (Build: 31118.962)https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/thread/36947.aspxMon, 12 Jan 2009 17:03:14 GMT033a2e2d-04e2-4a9d-be01-a4634161eefd:36947obsidian3d0https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/thread/36947.aspxhttps://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/commentrss.aspx?SectionID=43&PostID=36947<p>An interesting thing to note is that I&#39;ve used this same template part on another form with no issues.&nbsp; That form has two different views, in which the template part resides in a repeating table.&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried creating a new form from the blank template, adding the template part and a few small controls.&nbsp; The slow-down issue appears on the new form as well.</p>https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/thread/36889.aspxFri, 09 Jan 2009 23:51:24 GMT033a2e2d-04e2-4a9d-be01-a4634161eefd:36889obsidian3d0https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/thread/36889.aspxhttps://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/commentrss.aspx?SectionID=43&PostID=36889<p>Greetings,</p> <p>Not too long ago we created a template part in Infopath 2007 using a webservice as its data source.&nbsp; The control consists of three drop down boxes, and three text boxes.&nbsp; The first drop down list (Project) is populated from the service on form load.&nbsp; When an item is selected from the Project drop-down a call is fired to the service to load the appropriate contents for the second (Phase).&nbsp; The selected item from the Phase&nbsp;drop-down calls the service again to load the third drop-down with a list (Tasks).&nbsp; Each of the selections also push their corresponding codes into three matching text boxes.</p> <p>The control works very well on its own and responds fairly quickly.&nbsp; The problem we&#39;ve noticed is that when it is on a form with other regular controls (like checkboxes etc), those controls seem to grow slower and slower the more the template part is manipulated.&nbsp; The only thing I can think that would be causing this is perhaps some errors in the data validation rules on those controls.&nbsp; If the webservice calls were getting made in the background each time the user changes another control, that might cause it.</p> <p>Would anyone be able to suggest some ways to test / debug what&#39;s happening?&nbsp; There is no code-behind for this form...and I&#39;m out of ideas.&nbsp; We&#39;ve got a department waiting to use this form and need to get it out in a hurry!</p>
