Your solution about hiding the columns helped me out too.

I have have a similar type question but it concerns the footer row in a repeating table. Can the footer row(s) be hidden/unhidden? Or will I have to do what you suggested for the columns? I'm using a few footer rows for calculations and some people don't need to see them.

Thanks in advance.

wouldn't know a way how to do this. my proposal would be that you have two different repeating tables. one which shows all columns and one where the remark column/fields are missing. then put conditional formatting to the repeating sections to show the one with all columns only when a manager opens the page. would that be possible for you ?

Re: Hide certain for the solution nukkumati but sorry to say that it still did not solving my problem.

You see, in repeating table there are rows and columns right? We can hide certain row using filtering, but how can we hide certain cloumn in a repeating table? For example I have a repeating table with 5 columns which are stockno, stockname, stockdesc, stockprice and remarks.I want to hide the remark column so that user cannot see it. The remark column can only be viewed by approver.

Is it possible to do that?

Re: Hide certain column in repeating table

Thu, 09 Aug on how many controls are in your columns. if it is only one or two just use the same trick for conditional formatting on the control itself. if there are many more then i put all of them into an extra section within your repeating section and hide the complete section.

Re: Hide certain column in repeating i mean is on which value or what ever do you decide if the section should be shown or not. my proposal then would be to add on additional control to your repeating section. then i would use conditional formatting on the repeating section like "if fieldToDecideIfIShow == false AND additionalField == blank then hide this section. last step required would then be to fill the additionalControl with any value after the manager approved the document. like this additionalField would not be blank anymore and the section would show up. does this help ?

Re: Hide certain column in repeating table

Thu, 09 Aug 2007 11:00:41
