I have built a dynamic table with repeating sections and textboxes. Each repeating section is a "row" in the table. The First Column and Row of the data can be alphanumeric, but all cells inside the second row, second column must be numeric.

I know I can validate this using Alert dialogs, but I'd like to do it with Screen Tips.

As an aside, I could make the header row a separate group and validate the next group that holds the data (except for the first column), but I'd like to stick with the structure that I have.

Again, thank you for your reply.

Re: Validate without an Alert Dialog

If you do this just in the designer and not with code it should work like you want it to. In other words, I would like to encircle the field with a dotted red line like Infopath does when one of the data validation conditions are met instead of setting eventObj.returnStatus = false and eventObj.returnMessage = "XXXXXXX".

Thank you for your assistance.
