Put the drop down box and text box in two different sections.
2. Use the conditional formatting under display tab of section properties as if the drop down field value is other selected then hide that section (where the section holds the drop down box).
3. And put the inverse conditional formatting setting for the section which holds the text box(like if the drop down field value is not equal to other then hide the section which has text box).

Re: User input option for a dropdown list box

Thank you for your reply Kalyan
Can you tell me how this is done?

Re: User input option for a dropdown list box

Hello,

Yes You can insert the text box in the same position where the Dropdown is. However, this can still be achieve in IP 2003. You will want to have one option, "Other" in the drop-down. Add conditional formatting so that when "Other" is chosen, the drop-down list is hidden and another textbox is displayed.

I hope this makes sense, let us know if there are any problems!

User input option for a dropdown list box

Is it possible to have a dropdown list box that would allow a value to be typed by the user if a selection in the list did not meet their requirements?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Paul
