Advancing Request Number that also saves as that number

I am very new to InfoPath and am not certain how to describe this so I will provide an example.

I am trying to use a Text Box called "Request Number" to have the program automatically assign the Request Number so that it will appear in the box as "Request 1" and then have the document save as "Request 1". Then the next person who has a request, the program will bring it up with "Request 2" in that box and save it as "Request 2" and so on. The person entering the data can see this box as Read Only. I am not certain how to get this to work. Or perhaps there is a better type of Control other than the Text Box that I should be using?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please do not be too technical - I am not a programming or IT person, but someone who is in a bind and has to create this form.
