JavaScript isn't available for OOTB InfoPath. However, my company has a way of running a JavaScript file with an InfoPath form when publishing to a SharePoint site so in this case, JavaScript is available.

On demand = Ability to switch views on the click of a button when the form is rendered in a web page (SharePoint)

Normally, this would be done using the InfoPath Button, but we do not support that control as of yet. I am just exploring other ways to achieve this result.

Re: Switching views without using the InfoPath Button Control

To the best of my knowledge Javascript is not available for code-behind of Infopath 2010 (with which you tagged your question) forms, only C# and VB.NET. So, your question is about using javascript to switch views of Infopath web part from javascript of asxp web part page?

What do you mean under "on demand"? From where and how?triggered by what?

You can use rules for switching views in Infopath form without any code. The same is valid for a custom button - no need to use any code to switch views on button click

Switching views without using the InfoPath Button Control

Hi all,

My ultimate goal is to be able to switch views in InfoPath after it has been published to SharePoint and rendered in the broswer. Unfortunatly, our software doesn't support the InfoPath button control as of right now and that is the only way I know how to do it. However, I am able to use JavaScript but I'm not entirely sure on the code I need to be able to do this. Another add-in is that we have our own button we can use. One of the options with the custom button control is that it allows us to run javascript. I guess what I'm looking for is a way of switching views on demand without using the InfoPath Button Control and if at all possible, avoid using code.

Any input would be great.

Thanks.
