My question is why? If you want the option of having a view read only.

Create and finalize your view.

Create a second view

Copy and paste the controls to the second view

In View properties make the view read only.

Then just use a switch views action or in code if you need read-only.

I do not think it is a dynamic process so I do not think you could actually switch it on the fly. It is just a shortcut in the designed to set all of the fields readonly. But I am not sure. You could set all of the controls readonly individually.

Programmatically setting a view to Read Only

Hi all, I can see how to do this using the Infopath 2007 UI, but how do I do this programmatically
