Offhand - I guess I'd have a field called "ReplyAdded" and on form load always set that to false. If a reply is added, set it to true. Add workflow to the library to send an email when the item is added or changed and ReplyAdded is equal to true?

Looping - Updating users when a response has been added to a field

All,

InfoPath 2010, SharePoint 2010, web based form.

I've a form which has a field on it called messages.

An end user presses a button called Add Reply - this takes what was written in the messages field and copies the text into another field called message history, I also add date and time, username etc. It's a "message history log". Simply enough. Each time the Add Reply button is pressed it copies the messages field text to the message history field and then clears the messages field.

Any thoughts on how I can inform another person when a reply has been added? The solution has to be able to cope with a discussion type scenario. i.e. A>B,B>A,A>B etc. I don't now how long this conversation might go on for, yet I think if it makes it easier, it would be a maximum of 10 message history entries.

I know the discussion would end when another field - form status = resolved.

I'm thinking of using a count mechanism in a second workflow purely for the back and forth, yet I'm never a fan of having 2 workflows running on 1 form. The solution would have to be using OOTB possibilities.

Thanks

W
