Hm... - that's interesting. Well this works out too. :) Not sure why an "Is not blank" condition would cuase the error, but this way also works (and probably better because i would like the data overwritten if it is changed in the saem field or different LOB field. Thanks for taking a look!!!

Hi,

I tested out your form and it seems to be bugged. It seems that the set value error message is triggered by the condition that the field should not be blank. I'm not sure what is causing this. But when I removed the condition, the set value rule worked. Please check the modified form attached.

Looking more into it - it looks like all rules that require an action are giving me the error.

Not really. The field that I am sending the value to is not a drop down list - it's just a text field. But the fields that are getting the values are drop downs. So I have LOB1, LOB,2, and LOB3. The different LOBs have different selections depending on the property selected. The appropriate LOB field appears depending what property is selected. However, for the title - I want to include the LOB, but the value can be in any one of these fields. So I made a LOBTitle field intended to hold the value whichever field has the value. I made a rule for each LOB field - when the field is not blank (meaning it appeared and the user selected the value), it will send that value to the LOBTitle field. I thought it might be that the LOBTitle is not a drop down field (as the field I am getting the value from), but I tried changing and including the selections - but I still get the error. Below is what it looks like but with only one LOB field appearing when the assocated property is selected (Hidden otherwise).

Hi Frankie,

To my understanding, you are trying to set another drop down field's value based on another drop down field. Is that correct? If so, is there by any chance the values of the second drop down (the target drop down field) are not equal to the values (not the displayed value) of the initial drop down field? I'm not sure if this is the right scenario. If this doesn't help, can you attach a sample of your form so I may get a clearer idea of what isn't working for you?

Hello,

I am trying to set a fields value based on another selection. Basically I have a few drop down fields that appear based on other selections. I want to include the location in the title, but the location is either in location1 drop down, location2 drop . . . So I am making a rule in the location# that when it is not blank to have another field (titlelocation) equal to that fields entry. However when I create the rule, I recieve an error that "Some rules cannot be applied. Unspecified error". I also tried to just get it to work by dislpaying a message when it is not blank, but that also generates the error message. Any ideas on why the error occurs?
