Hi Tom,

I'm not sure how you are populating these fields upon form load. I assumed that these were values from a query. Anyway, are there rules which are setting these values? If so then the isSubmitted approach I presented earlier should work, but if these are default values then you might need to use another logic for having these fields populated. If you are unsure, kindly attach a copy or sample of your form so I could have a better idea of what isn't working for you.

Hi Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with form load rules but cannot find one that specifies whether they refresh the form or not. Could you advise me as to where this is? Thanks

Hi Tom,

For cases like this, the quickest approach is to add a Boolean (default to FASLE) field to your form and name it isSubmitted. This field will be hidden from users and will only contain values which form load rules will depend on. For the submit button, before submitting the form, add a rule which sets the isSubmitted boolaen field to TRUE. After adding this, add a condition to the form load refresh rules to only run if isSubmitted is FALSE. This way, once the form is re-opened after submitting, the form load rules will no longer run since the Boolean no is set to TRUE. Hope this makes sense.

I have a form that automatically populates the email, name and department fields based on a lookup using a data connection. The problem is after they have submitted the form it is sent to their line manager to approve. When the line manager opens the form it over writes it with their information instead of just loading the original values submitted. Is there a way to stop the fields refreshing. I am using the a form that the employee fills in, when they hit submit it emails a copy to the line manager. When they open it it loads another view of the data with options to approve it. I am using sharepoint in office 365 to host the form. Any tips would be great thanks.
