If you truly just need time, set the field to be a time data type and just drag and drop it onto the form. You can use a calculated value or expression box in your print view. But don't change the data type if this form is already in production and in use....

Printing a time field (without date part)

Hello,

My InfoPath form isn't printing a time field as desired. The date portion keeps on coming out now matter what I do to suppress all but the time.

I have three objects that are relevant to this topic. I have an underlying field in the data source. I have a control on the edit form. I also have a control on the print form.

If I set the underlying type of the field to date and time, set the control on the edit form to be a text box with time as the format, then set the control on the print form to also be a text box with a time format, two things happen. First, I have an error message on the print form that the "Control cannot display data correctly." When I try to print, I get the date portion.

If I set the underlying type of the field to time, set the control on the edit form t o be a text box with time as the format, then set the control on the print form to also be a text box with a time format, I still have the error "Control cannot display data correctly." I also get the date part when printing.

Is it possible to actually have my user enter a time and have only the time show up on the print form? Thanks.
