On these fields I have formatting rules and validation rules to make the fields pink with red text if they are blank and various things have been checked, this is to show the user that these fields require information based on their selections.

The problem I am having is that if the user pastes into these rich text fields, sometimes it will hold onto the source formatting (stay the way the user wants it to look) and sometimes it will retain the formatting of my "required field" formatting rule (ie pink background and red text).

I could try this 20 times and it is close to 50/50 one way or the other.

Does anyone have a method aside from telling the user to always PASTE WITH SOURCE FORMATTING to fix this? I know they won't do it, they don't even read the text on the form as it is...

Thanks in advance.
