You can simply add one with the following condition:

Employee is existing employee (however you define this in your form) AND

AssetID is blank

When you do this, you should remove the "Field is required" property in the field's settings

Hidden Sections with Mandatory Fields

Hello All.

I was wondering if someone could provide an easy solution to this task.

I am currently building an I.T Employee Request Hardware Form in InfoPath '10 either for a new employee or existing employee.

In the 2 different options different hidden sections appear depending which is chosen. In the sections there mandatory fields.

i.e a new employee requesting a new hardware device wont have an existing hardware asset ID number. Only an existing employee would. This field would be hidden to the new user.

Unfortunately I am not very good with code, and I believe there is a validation rule you can apply to disable the asset ID field to not to be mandatory when new employee is selected.

Is there a way to complete this?

Thanks
