Maybe try setting the postback settings on the drop down to always (under the control's properties). I won't have a chance to try it in the browser this week, but can look next week if postback doesn't fix it.

shoot, I think we are getting closer but it's still not working quite right in the browser.

In the browser,
If I select 'In Progress' it's saying 'New Request' Then if I select 'Published' it changes to 'CompletedNew Request'

so for some reason it's getting confused.

Works great in Preview mode though :(

This seems to be working but sorry I have one more request.

I originally had the default value of that field as 'New Request', that value controls some other items on the forum.

Is there a way to have that field display 'New Request' if there are no records in the repeating table? Or nothing has been assigned yet?

Oh Browser Forms can be so pesky. Give me 5 mins and I'll update your sample with a different approach.

Sorry, looks like I've run into a snag.
It works perfectly in preview mode, but when I publish and view in the browser it doesn't seem to want to work correctly.

I've notice that if I select 'in progress' as a status or any other option, it changes the field to 'completed' for a second (it shouldn't do this). Then if I select 'Published' it now no longer updates the field.

If I create another row in my repeating table, it will then see the 'published' and update correctly.

Any ideas why it would do this?

I also have another need, if any of the fields say 'in progress' what do I need to do, so that it updates to the status field to say 'In Progress'

Rules fire when a field changes. In your sample, status is not the field that changes, so a rule will not fire. Here's your sample back w/ the rules on the repeating field instead and a custom condition.

Hi,

I've been having a hard time trying to do something that seems like it should be easy.

I have a repeating table, one field is a drop down field called channel-status.

I also have within my form a text box 'request status'
What I'm trying to do is, when all instances of 'channel-status' have been marked 'published' it will update the 'request status' field to 'completed.

I can't seem to get it to work, on 'request status' I have an action rule as this when 'all occurrences of channel-stutus' equals "published" set the field 'request status' to "completed"

But it never updates?

What am I doing wrong?
